Free time

I am currently reading a book titled ‘langt ude? essays om fremtiden’ (red. far out ? essays about the future). So far I have only read the first part, where the writer tells about how people has spend their time in different parts of the history for the last 50 years.

Very interestingly its stated that people has less time for recreation and other stuff.. they stress around from one activity to another one, and he explains some reasons why it could be this way. In 2001 both men and women used about 2 times the amount they used in 1987, for toilette. The reason for this seems to be that it is the only place where people can relax properly from the stress in their everyday life. About 50 minuts are used for toilette a day. Even though people have more free time and they sleep less, it seems there is not enough time. Women generally use much more time for household chores where men work longer and use more time for transport.

The free time for recreation and relax from everything is gone. And not only this, spare time and work are now also more mixed than ever, which means people think a lot about issues from their work when they should not.

White Chaos – Snowy Beautyness

The snow has come and everything is chaos. The police is recommending not to go anywhere, not by car. The roads is blocked by drifts of snow, and the traffic is almost non existent. The radio says that some places around has north pole like conditions. Busses here in Aarhus are mostly stopped and cant go anywhere. The blizzard has come to most of Denmark, while the rest is allmost without snow. South Sweden is also in chaos because of the weather situation. Some parts of the country is without electricity and some public websites are down too. The airports has called alot of departures off. Humans cant control this situation. Nature is now in charge.

From another point of view, all of this chaos may have an influence on the national economy, cause it gives more work to do and people is kept busy. Though, others might have a forced day at home, and not going to work unless they can work from home. Anyway, my teacher once told me that thats how it is, its good for the national economy, I dont exactly remember how this was :D

The way I see all of this, is different. I find all this snow cosy. Its nice to sit inside in my room with nice temperatures and look out the window and see all this whiteness. Its somehow beautiful. The nature has many faces, this is one of them. I love the nature, though I only rarely see it, due to I’m sitting in front of my PC doing crazy stuff like blogging and surfing the net and playing computer or watching tv or the like. I do also study, not to mention :) .
The sky is grey and a tad of darkness is within, the earth is white and clean(untill the dogs come around).
When the sky is blue, and the earth is covered in snow up to the knees, the snow is most impressive. The sky gives a blue glow to the snow. So I just hope we get some nice and clear sky or something like that when the storm ends.
For me, the nature shows God’s wonderful greatness and wonderfully creativeness. I dont know how he made this, I have absolutely no clue. We cant make something thats just close to what he did, though a lot of scientists think they can and try hard, poor people.
Nature witness about God. Cool nature.

But now the nature gives me reasons to stay inside, cause I cant go to school because the busses doesnt come around, its impossible to ride the bike and my school is too far away to walk.

!Hero: The Rock Opera

Well, its been a while since my last post :) Here goes.

Lately ive been listening a lot to an internet radio called Radio Freedom. Many tracks played is very enjoybale for me. Some of them make me think different issues over. Some other of them I just enjoy listening to.
I made some research on some of the numbers, and ended up reading about some rock opera called !Hero. The idea is, what if Jesus was born in Bethlehem… Pennsylvania.
I did not know about such a thing as a rock opera. And it seems to me as its the same as a musical, based on rock music. I like the music so I purchased a live video recording on DVD so I could watch the show.
As it arrived in my letter box, the only thing I could do was watch it right away :)

And I can recommend it. I really like the show, the songs are great. Michael Tait from the former DC Talk is doing a good job playing the main character, as well as the rest of the team.
Also Mark Stuart from Audio Adrenaline and Rebecca St. James are starring in this show.

Miranda IM

This program is an alternative to all Chat programs, Instant messengers and whatever it is called. The program has support for various protocols(ICQ, MSN, Jabber, Yahoo, IRC and more).
It is highly customizable. You can change the look and feel to how you like it. There are thousands of plugins for this little program.
E. g. you can have RSS/ATOM feeds downloaded and get a popup message. Or you can have a weather forecast. Almost anything is possible to configure.

Here is a little picture of how mine looks at the moment. I use it for IRC channels, MSN, and feeds (As GMail user I can receive news from my inbox through an ATOM feed). I have found a premade skin on the Internet.

Finally, a link to the Miranda IM Project.

The second screenshots shows how the theme can look on a simple program like Microsoft Office Word 2003. This might illustrate the theme a bit better.
