I recently started using Linux as part of a Fortran programming class at university, so I learned to use some of these commands already. They are essential for a beginner like me :)

More than this commands I also found these useful:
rm [filename]
removes (deletes) a file.

more [filename]
writes the content of a file in the terminal.

./[filename]
Runs a program file that I have compiled already. I guess this is a bit more advanced since it requires some programming knowledge.

I use the up-arrow key when I want to find a command that I have already used before, so I don't have to write it again.
